I bought a 32GB flash USB thinking that it might resolve the issue if I created MX 17 on that and then tried to install.Would it? I hope someone can help because I really don't want to go back to Windows 10. My system was previously running Windows 10 Pro, which no longer boots since the failed install of MX, but that doesn't concern me as I intended to scrub it and have MX as my only os anyway. I have tried booting normally and also in legacy mode, but the problem still persists.
I couldn't find anything in the forum that specifically related to this particular SSD, and trawling the net, I found a suggestion that secure boot might interfere with the process, so I disabled the secure boot and deleted the platform keys also. Returning to step 1" The SSD is recognized in the bios and the MX installer correctly names it too. My problem is that when I tried to install MX as the operating system using the desktop installer,and choosing auto installer, it stops at 2% and throws up the message " Failed to create the required partitions. I downloaded MX Linux 17 圆4 and burnt the iso to DVD and everything works fine. Exactly where it should be in my opinion. I love the layout, the ease of customization, and the fact that the desktop panel is on the left. I tried a few Linux demo distro's and decided MX Linux was the operating system for me.
